1999 Studio Proteus Xmas card

Digging way back in the archives for THIS one... or, more truthfully, digging through a pile of crap in my studio. Anyhoo, here's the artwork I did waaay back in '99 for that year's Studio Proteus Xmas card. Hope you'll pardon the crappiness of the scan, as I worked directly from a copy of the card itself, rather than from the original artwork (and I have NO idea where the hell that sucker went).

For the uninitiated, the characters are from various manga Studio Proteus translated (and relettered and retouched, back in the bygone "flopped manga" era). Top row: Urd and Skuld from OH MY GODDESS. Middle row: the eponymous SHADOW LADY, Rin from BLADE OF THE IMMORTAL, and Rally from GUNSMITH CATS. Bottom row: Of course, none other than Yuri and Kei from the original English-language DIRTY PAIR comic... which isn't technically "manga" per se, but WTFeva.

Note that you can tell how old this piece is by the fact that--- GASP-- I was still drawing noses back then! Wheeee! Nowadays, needless to say, I take a different approach.
