The Dire Demonwolf disertations would be dourly debilitated without its poignant penchant for prosaic perambulation.

While CD's mastery of the english language is awesome, now I know why Volume 5 was almost 1/2 Demonwolf-speak.

Yeah, a "Demonwolf depiction of a sex scene" was funny and I'm sure I gained a few IQ points deciphering it, but I disagree with the lot who said "Too much Demonwolf is not enough.".

Think Scott Pilgrim - video game references were there, but they didn't dominate entire flashbacks. Double K, the callbacks to Gurren Lagann are there, but the plot moves forward.

I enjoyed reading MindF*ck's dialogue and I wish she and Demonwolf had the chance to meet, but Demonolf's explanation to Ninjette was getting repetitive after 5 straight pages of it.

But I'm just one person after all. And I admit I had my vocabulary unwillingly expanded trying to decode those conversations.

But unless Demonwolf's going to do something important in Volume 6/the near future - I'd rather not have to listen to him as often.

He is what he is. Eternally he exists, fundamentally unchanging as our universe expands, contracts and expires. Represent him however you wish, but the Demonwolf is beyond your mere mortal power to effect, for good or ill....

I really enjoy the character of the C.D. I love that he speaks so convolutedly. I love his combination of hyperbole and banality. But I agree with @Daigohji that he now uses way way way too much alliteration. It's tedious and contrived and it doesn't become him--he's a king, not a jester. I much preferred the way he spoke when he was newly-caged. He really is awesome, as are all your characters. Beautiful way you have with depth and dynamic of character.

It's not so much the C.D.; ever since Vol. 2 you've had Emp and her friends neologize words (for which perfectly serviceable suffixes or conjugations already exist) into horrible portmanteaus of themselves and the suffix "-ness." This gets especially bad in Vols. 3 + 4, where it becomes the single most defining characteristic of any exchange, but seems to have tapered off in the more action-oriented 5 + 6. If you change anything about character dialogue, however, please change the 'ness-ness.

I like the Caged Demonwolf. It'd be nice to learn more about him as a character in later volumes. Also, I wonder if prolonged exposure to humans (especially Emp, Thugboy and Ninjette) is affecting his overall evil nature.

I absolutely love Caged Demonwolf, he's one of my favorite characters, and I wouldn't want him to change one bit...but that said, its hard to read page after page of exposition delivered by him - his detailed accounting of Emp and Thugboy's fight and make-up in "Of Clingy Monkeys and Negative Excrescence" did make my eyes glaze over a bit and was definitely the low-point of the book. So an absolute yes to CD's voluminous verbal venting, but maybe avoid having him relate long tales. He's at his best when he gives Emp his trademarkable motivational speeches.

And Adam? Thank you so much for reviving the word "jackanapes." That is a word that deserves to be celebrated.

Eagerly awaiting Volume 7.

It depends where you're using him. i.e. the Demonwolf narrating sex was hilarious. He can be overused at times, though.
