The cover to the first issue of LIVEWIRES, the six-part miniseries I created, wrote, laid out and occasionally penciled and inked for Marvel. (Available now as a trade-paperback collection, by the way.) Line art by me, crucial Photoshoppery by Ryan Kinnaird.
To quote the issue's solicitation copy:
"Stem Cell. Hollowpoint Ninja. Gothic Lolita. Cornfed. Social Butterfly. They’re nanobuilt humanform combat mecha, with “smartware” bodies specialized for covert ops and Artificially Intelligent minds programmed for suicidal loyalty. They’re the superhuman products of a top-secret, quasi-governmental R&D program with a unique agenda: namely, to seek out and destroy OTHER top-secret, quasi-governmental R&D programs. And in the ultratech underbelly of a Marvel Universe infested with mad suprageniuses, homebrewed WMDs, and bootlegged alien technologies, they have a lot of work to do…"

Just out of curiosity, has anyone ever expressed interest in Livewires-style contact lenses? Active-luminescent ones are still a ways off, but passive UV-reflective ones would work nicely for most purposes...
