Behold, yet another "endpage" humor piece I did for the videogame magazine PSM. This time around, the topic is: "Complaints from the best Playstation 2 games you never played"... As in, a bunch of well-reviewed games that wound end selling quite badly, and their speculative whining about why gamers didn't buy them.*
Actually, KYA: DARK LINEAGE wasn't on the list of such games that PSM gave me, but I threw it in anyway, as I really, REALLY liked that sucker. Lotta fun, nicely varied gameplay (a platformer with a decent fight engine, 'boarding sequences and more), decent character design... though I could do without the Wiley Coyote enemy designs, but what the heck.
Note that the OKAMI reference ties neatly into the previous PSM piece I posted: [link]
*Any resemblance to most of my ill-starred career in comics is STRICTLY COINCIDENTAL.
Say what you want, but the first two games were a lot of fun and both had endings that didn't really work well.
Kya was quite a lot of fun. I loved those fight moves you could use, and all the traps you could set to knock them out. Good pick.
BG&E was a great game that was oddly under appreciated. I bought it brand new for $25.00 at EBGames. The lead was cute, good game play, and good music. It had an almost Zelda like quality that wasn't fully realized.
I've yet to play Okami. My local Blockbuster is run by a retarded monkey. They pick horrible games and hardly get any. I like to rent before I buy. I may get this when ti comes out on the Wii.
i never even heard of the 3 action games.... but i played okami and it's so nice!!!!!
too bad i never found out what happened if i cleared the "ultimate senior ink-the-weak-spot stone wall"... even with someone else helping me. and no faq says it too, so i figure it is one of those impossible things, lol 8D
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. From participating in devmeets, to providing positive encouragement to other artists, `Rushy can always be found demonstrating what it really takes to be a true deviant.
