Behold, a commissioned sketch I'll be dropping off at San Diego Comic-Con next month*, featuring the eponymous lead character from my "sexy superhero comedy" Empowered cosplaying as DC's Supergirl. (And complaining about a costume that, technically, no longer exists, but WTH... Not that the slightly more recent "bicycle shorts under a skirt" is all that vast an improvement, given the fact that "flouncy skirt" and "flight at rooftop level or higher" remain less-than-optimally-compatible concepts.**)

If'n you wanna see more Emp, the brand-new comic Empowered: Ten Questions for the Maidman [link] , should now be available at your Local Comics Store. (Note that, if said LCS neglected to stock it, the book can also be ordered from Dark Horse's online retail store here: [link] )

In closing, I must of course paste in the requisite general-purpose Emp-related floggery... Empowered's first six volumes (and a previous one-shot in "floppy" comics format) can be found on the shelves of your Local Comics Retailer or bookstore, or online at Dark Horse's retail website [link] or on Amazon.com [link] .

*Assuming my rather tenuous hotel situation gets resolved in a satisfactory fashion, that is.

**For that matter, "a cape" and "flight at rooftop level or higher" also remain less-than-optimally-compatible concepts as well. The moment that any superhero stops (high-speed) forward travel at altitude, high winds would wrap that goofy-ass cape around his or head in a flash; at the very least, it would be difficult to deliver pompous exposition to fellow superfliers at 10,000 feet with your cape madly flapping, flailing and whipping itself around you. (Oops, just spoiled the beginning of a lengthy anti-cape rant from Empowered vol. 8...)

The new costume shows just as much skin. In fact, her hips, upper thighs and butt are permanently exposed now rather than only when her skirt flies up. And she has to get a Brazilian now. I don't get how it's an "improvement" as far as exposure goes.

I agree with the miniskirt thing (even though I like flouncy miniskirt wearing girls >.>)it just never seemed a good idea for combat.LOL she probably shoulda stoped while ahead no undies indeed ^w^
