EMPOWERED + NINJETTE as the White + Black Queens by AdamWarren EMPOWERED + NINJETTE as the White + Black Queens by AdamWarren
Behold, a Sharpie-rendered illo of my characters Emp and Ninjette (from my ongoing "sexy superhero comedy" series Empowered, published by Dark Horse Comics) cosplaying as Marvel's White Queen and Black Queen. And yeahp, 'tis true, Ninjette is a tad less well-endowed than any of the various women who sported the Black Queen costume in X-Men continuity...

Here's a previous pic of Emp as the White Queen...

...and, just because I like it, here's another (non-cosplay) pic of Emp and Ninjette:

So, the newest installment of Empowered, vol. 7, is now on sale at your Local Comics Retailer Store and/or conventional bookstore, and is also available in digital form via the Dark Horse Digital Store [link] and on Barnes & noble's Nook: [link]
More info here: [link]

If you've read the book and care to weigh in on the experience, feel free to leave a comment here, in a SPOILER ALERT zone: [link]

And now, further floggery: Empowered vol. 7 can be found at your Local Comics Retailer (or bookstore, possibly), or online at Dark Horse's retail website [link] or on Amazon.com [link] .

Say, here's Empowered vol. 7's cover, without the logo:

And here's the book's back-cover copy:

While costumed crimefighter Empowered makes a startling discovery regarding her unfortunate status as an all-too-frequent "damsel in distress," her hard-drinking best friend Ninjette confronts her own sordid past, violent present and frighteningly uncertain future as she fights a desperate, single-handed battle against a entire clan of supernaturally durable ninja warriors. Can our two hard-luck heroines also withstand the further perils posed by supervillainous minivans, dueling sets of "daddy issues," doomed-but-still-hot boyfriends, undead karaoke party-crashers, and even "spoiler alerts from hell itself" voiced by diabolically omniscient demonspawn?

In closing, I must of course paste in the requisite general-purpose Emp-related floggery: Print copies of Empowered's first six volumes (and a pair of one-shots in comics format) can be found on the shelves of your Local Comics Retailer or bookstore, or online at Dark Horse's retail website [link] or on Amazon.com [link] . All the existing Empowered books can be purchased rather more cheaply in digital form as well, via the Dark Horse Digital store: [link]

Emp and Ninj are just plain adorable in any incarnation.

As for the Hellfire Queens, they always look to me like they're on the verge of a riding crop catfight which will leave their sweet buns sore and red, especially Emma who looks to be the weaker of the two.

I DO believe Ninjette needs some SERIOUS loving, Mr. Warren! :jawdrop:  :wow: :O I mean... SERIOUSLY, sir! Why shouldn't Ninjette have some... uuuhhh, "development" in the looks department? :? I may have yet to purchase one of the issues of Empowered, but let's be honest: Ninjette seems like quite the great gal and she REALLY needs to *ahem* grow up physically, you know! :) Really, after several issues, it's high time she does, don't you think so? :D

Whether she might be a late blossomer or whatever the reason it might be for her lacking a generous amount of curves in some parts of her body, Ninjette could TRULY use some morale booster and what better way to achieve that than... well, giving her more of a body! ;) I, for one, wouldn't MIND AT ALL watching the new and improved Ninjette!

After all, female ninjas (kunoichis) ARE quite the BEAUTIFUL lookers, aren't they? :XD: ;)

Gotta disagree.
I like the fact Warren puts a variety of shapes on display, including the athletic, streamlined shape of Ninjette.

You still look hot Ninjette. Although maybe Sistah Spooky should have taken this role.

!DISCLAIMER! This comment is more directed to the other viewers of this deviation rather than the creator.

I've been seeing this artist's pieces here on dA for a while, and every time I see one the same thought pops into my head; Does anyone else think that the squat heads and big lips and, often, lopsided eyes make his characters look like they have Downs syndrome?
I'm deeply sorry if anyone thinks this is insensitive, and it is by no means meant as a critique or made to offend the artist (or anyone else), but I just need to know of I'm the only one seeing it?

No offences taken from my part but...
I'm...I'm sorry i don't see anything that makes me think about the Down syndrome.I think you have search for it too far.

What's you call "squat heads" is a style for drawing girls's haeds common in manga style, big lips...Well that's for sex appeal, i guess ? As for the lopsided eyes, it append to any artists, we don't always see that we fucked up our sysmetry and it could be used as a style.

Also, funny fact, somes actress from the 1920 share some of thoses similarities.

Also, when we go on about the 1920's, I've noticed that almost every single wedding photo I've seen from the 1940's and earlier, the only thing that distinguish the women from the men are the clothes (and if the groom has a lot of facial hair of course). Otherwise they look like men the lot of them.

Wedding photo ? Becarefull, fathers, mothers, brothers and sisters tend to have similarities, even with the uncles and cousins (:
But it's true that at that time, they liked women with visible cheekbones (not sure it's the term, sorry english isn't my natal language). It kinda make them look a bit manly.

True, 'Jette doesn't have the front porch for such a character, but she's got the back yard, and looks completely hot in that outfit anyway. It's nice to see Emp as Emma Frost again. Great work with all these cosplays.
