Feb. 29, 2012 sees the release Empowered Deluxe Edition Vol. 1, collecting the first three volumes of my ongoing "sexy superhero comedy" series in a big, bold, 712-page $59.99 hardcover printed on pretty, pretty paper and including 40-odd pages of bonus material. Mo' info here: [link]
Anyhoo, here's the full-color version of the book's character-heavy cover, as painstakingly rendered by ace color artist . You can see the B&W inks for the illo here: [link]
As mentioned above, in addition to 650+ pages of earlier material (printed on much nicer paper, this time), the book features a bonus section comprising 40-odd pages of extra material, as flogged by "Metatextual Emp" here: [link] That includes early developmental versions of what would later become Empowered, unused story pages, con sketches, story notes, logo variations, assorted work stages (roughs, pencils, color guides) for the series' front and back cover illustrations, and so on.
Here's a wee 6-page preview of said bonus section: [link]
In closing, I must of course paste in the requisite general-purpose Emp-related floggery: Print copies of Empowered's first six volumes (and a pair of one-shots in comics format) can be found on the shelves of your Local Comics Retailer or bookstore, or online at Dark Horse's retail website [link] or on Amazon.com [link] .
All the existing Empowered books can be purchased rather more cheaply in digital form as well, via the Dark Horse Digital store: [link] Note, however, that the upcoming Empowered Deluxe Edition will remain a "print-only" proposition.
After comparing this colored version, the inked version, and the pencil one, I think I like this version of Emp's mouth best. Although I dunno, the determined smile in the pencil version was really nice, too. I prefer the ones where she's smiling, like maybe the world isn't out to crush her soul.
And its preordered....just a shame you got NO clue about shipping cost from their site, that might be a nasty shock when it ships Oh well, it cant be worse than the Stuart NG shipping cost, i dropped getting the sketchbook due to cost of that one
Looks awosom im just wondering if i can get this since im from mexio, so far i only see regulars volums 1-3 that i still havent get becuse they are out, but will love to have all the collection.
Must be awkward on the bus.

and was told they'd partially refund some of it. They did too.
