EMPOWERED 7's front + back covers by AdamWarren EMPOWERED 7's front + back covers by AdamWarren
Behold, the so-called "trade dress"—that is, the front cover, back cover and spine—from Empowered vol. 7, the latest installment of my ongoing "sexy superhero comedy" series published by Dark Horse Comics. The book's slated to hit the shelves of your Local Comics Store on May 30th, and arrive in conventional bookstores some time after that. More info here: [link]

Both cover illos feature fine color work by :iconguru-efx: , who did a bang-up job rendering Emp and Ninjette on the front cover—and rendering Emp dressed as Ninjette on the back cover!

Anyhoo, speaking of Ninjette, I'm still soliciting any queries you might have for her, some of which will be answered in an upcoming Empowered short story next week. You can leave a Ninjette query in the comments here: [link] ...or ask it via Twitter, using the hashtag #Ask Ninjette.

And now, the floggery: Next week, Empowered vol. 7 can be found at your Local Comics Retailer (or bookstore, possibly), or online at Dark Horse's retail website [link] or on [link] .

Say, here's Empowered vol. 7's cover, without the logo:

And here's the book's back-cover copy, if you don't care to read it off the jpeg:

While costumed crimefighter Empowered makes a startling discovery regarding her unfortunate status as an all-too-frequent "damsel in distress," her hard-drinking best friend Ninjette confronts her own sordid past, violent present and frighteningly uncertain future as she fights a desperate, single-handed battle against a entire clan of supernaturally durable ninja warriors. Can our two hard-luck heroines also withstand the further perils posed by supervillainous minivans, dueling sets of "daddy issues," doomed-but-still-hot boyfriends, undead karaoke party-crashers, and even "spoiler alerts from hell itself" voiced by diabolically omniscient demonspawn?

In closing, I must of course paste in the requisite general-purpose Emp-related floggery: Print copies of Empowered's first six volumes (and a pair of one-shots in comics format) can be found on the shelves of your Local Comics Retailer or bookstore, or online at Dark Horse's retail website [link] or on [link] . All the existing Empowered books can be purchased rather more cheaply in digital form as well, via the Dark Horse Digital store: [link]

Mr. Warren, I have to hand it to you, you never cease to impress me with your artwork and storytelling. The scene in this comic that stands out most in my mind is the bath scene- we've groan to love the caged demonwolf for his beligerent over the top faux shakespearean rants, but we've never seen him "get serious" the way he does here. The calm, heartfelt way he talks to Jette was very powerful.....endearing and oddly chilling all at the same time. Thank you for a wonderful story. I look forward to your next volume.

Adam, i just finished #7 and I must say that despite a profound emphasis on Ninjette, I found it quite compelling and found myself worrying for 'Jett's fate by the end. I especial liked the "heart to heart" between her and the Caged Demonwolf. I also found the format to be engrossing and I'm already looking forward to a second read! Keep knocking' em out of the park! Best, Scott
