Another chapter-break illo from the upcoming (September '07) second volume of EMPOWERED, my "sexy superhero comedy" book published by Dark Horse Comics. Note that my scrawled lettering at the top of the page will be replaced by finished logo and type on the printed version.

I should hasten to add that the actual story, here, isn't quite as degrading as the title illo might indicate. In fact, Emp winds up turning the tables quite thoroughly on the world's least impressive "chronovillain"... but I didn't think that an illo of a beaten-up, pudgy guy in a REALLY stupid costume would be all that striking or appealing.

Art note: The spacing of the numbers on the clockface is a tad effed up... but as this was my second attempt to draw the stupid thing, I just said "to HELL wit' you," to quote Arnie as Conan.

Just curious but how long did it take you to finish that illustration?

Ehh, probably a couple of hours... I actually had to scrap the first version of the piece, because I REALLY screwed up the clock's face the first time around.

Glad you liked EMP vol. 1; here's hoping that volumes 2 and 3 (and more) also work for you!
