Artist's Comments

A commission done as a gift for a friend of a friend's wedding (I think), featuring my version of Yuri and Kei from THE DIRTY PAIR. A flawed piece, as Kei's shoulders and upper torso are more than a tad messed up, but what the hell... One thing about the linen-finish cardstock I used here: you cannot, repeat CANNOT, fix anything once you've applied the heavy 3B lead, as the stuff just does NOT erase...

Yuri's hair seams more Flat to the shape of her head than is say your normal style.

In spite of its flaws (that you describe, but I barely notice), it is still a beautiful pinup sketch. You have your own unique vision for the Angels which complements their prior appearances in manga and anime.

Any chance that we'll ever see an animated version of the Pair on HDTV here in the States? Perhaps a kiddified version for Saturday morning cartoons (something like "Kim Possible" meets "Buzz Lightyear") or perhaps a more hardcore edition on the Science Fiction channel (a media collision of "Serenity," "Aliens," "Robocop," and "Ghost in the Shell")...?

I know how you feel, I often find my mistakes in my sketchs, and I'm not quite in your league. I usually catch them when I pull the image up on Photoshop and ink and color (Still learning this particular skill) the image.

Things I changed on the catgirl include smoothing out the back, shifting the half hidden thigh so the calves looked like they should be in the placement they are, and I moved the back of the head closer to front of the head.
