Description
From way back in the day—1994, to be exact—here's the inked version of my cover for Barb Wire #1, a book that was part of Dark Horse's "Comics Greatest World" superhero line. Needless to say, the title achieved a rather wider degree of mainstream notice when it was adapted into an ill-fated Pamela Anderson movie.
Fun fact #1: This cover has the unique distinction of having appeared in the National Enquirer(!), accompanying the first images of Anderson in her tight leather (and corset-tastic) Barb Wire costume. Little did I know that this would represent the high point of my career. (Joking!*)
Fun fact #2: In final version of the cover (as repro'd in the Enquirer, right next to Pam's bountiful cleavage), Barb is growling the following word balloon: "DON'T CALL ME BABE." This exhortation was rather more believable coming from the comic-book version of the character, IMHO...
*Then again, I might not be joking; far more people saw that image than have ever seen anything else from my body o' work...
