'99 Priss from BUBBLEGUM CRISIS sketch by AdamWarren '99 Priss from BUBBLEGUM CRISIS sketch by AdamWarren
A 1999 sketch of Priss from Bubblegum Crisis. Scanned from a photocopy, alas, so I apologize for the less-than-optimal repro quality.

A more recent, high-contrast Priss illo: [link]

Emerald City (ECCC) at the end of March; Toronto (TCAF) in May; San Diego (SDCC) in July. Really, I'm not sure if I've done three cons in a year since the early 90s...

dang, I wish I lived closer to the West coast, I'd love to commission you man. I live near New York City and my current budget won't let me fly out there, maybe someday if you do any East Coast cons i'll do it. Anyway, love these BGC drawings :D

I love your older art. Especially the way you did eyes and noses. More whites in the eyes. It's very pretty.

Your Bubblegum Crisis mini is still one of my all time favorite comics and my favorite of your works. Thank you for sharing this!

Which reminds me... whatever became of that prospective BGC mini that was supposed to follow up to Grand Mal?  Those were some mighty fine comics in the day, really fitting the "dark and gritty" setting in which the Knight Sabres operated.

When I was a kid I watched Bubblegum Crisis without even knowing what anime was.

Years later I found it again and it led me to YOUR work. So I am doubly grateful to the series.

I love your version of BGC in the Grand Mal TPB. Enough of the original, but plenty of your own style. Priss was always the attitude case, but in your version, DAMN! The other versions were like Pat Benatar in attitude, but the Adam Warren Priss is more Arch Enemy's Angela Gossow (though not in vocal delivery, at least as far as I know). Nice blast from the past.

I love seeing this. Bubblegum Crisis was the first comic that got me in trouble with my dad. He was absolutely disgusted that I would pay $20 for a comic book when I was thirteen haha!

man this is so damn cool. I love the way you sketch leather jackets...though I have no idea how the hell an inker would ink that and stay true to the sketch. Any chance of you doing another BGC run?

I'm blown away, not only for the awesomeness of your artwork but also for how cool YOU are. I can't believe that after taking the time to dig through your files from last century to share with us, you are still apologizing!

Other superstars of the comic world seem a bit too occupied to talk to the rest of us mere mortals, who draw for fun rather than for a living.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying they're despicable for not taking time for every fan, I'm sure they are genuinely busy. But judging for the quality and quantity of the work you do, you are PLENTY busy, yet here you are...

Cheers.
