IBUKI issue 3 alt-cover rough

Behold, my rough for the alternate cover I did for issue #3 of Udon's STREET FIGHTER LEGENDS: IBUKI #3, due to hit the shelves of your Local Comics Store on June 30, 2010. The book itself features words by , pretty pictures by .

Interestingly, this rough has a bit more energy/ kineticism than the final version, mainly because I had to shift Ibuki's figure to a more upright orientation on said final illo to keep her clear of the various logos and such. This early iteration has a bit better diagonal flow, IMHO, even if that flow reads right-to-left, which is normally quite the bugaboo for me (as I spend almost all of my time doing sequential art, which requires left-to-right flow).

Have to say, I considered adding quite a few more bizarrely shaped shuriken to the piece, as I'd dug up plenty of colorful ninjutsu-tool reference for a Ninjette fight scene that wound up getting cut from EMPOWERED volume six... Oh, well.

Anyhoo, the final version featured fine colors by DA's own ; I'll post that one in my regular gallery shortly.
